Spring is here a great time for fishing and messing about on the river

Dorado ( the champ)

Vagre
If you love fishing or just simply watching  the world go by now is a great time to be in Waterside Cottage as we were last week. It was great to get away from the craziness of Buenos Aires  and relax in the calm of Waterside Cottage. Sunny days, warm evenings and plenty of fish to catch and cook to eat over a hot barbie. This time we caught dorado  and boga plus I managed to catch a  the old lady of the water  a  strange name but elegant fish- that was a first for me. Can't wait to  get back there . The house is available to rent just email us on watersideuruguay@gmail.com

The Fish are Coming - Love Uruguay

More and more boats are now coming to Cufre
Champion !!
Just back from a lovely break in Waterside Cottage Uruguay  . Five days of peace walking on the  beach and beating Nita ( she is  still smarting!)  in the Waterside Cottage fishing championship . Such a nice break didn't want to leave but all good things have to come to an end but a trip back will be in the  not to distant future  for  sure . The cottage seems to be getting more popular as we have renters coming on some  weekends now to enjoy life on a Uruguay River. Not five star facilities  but its a five star  break  for me for sure cant get enough of it

As All Hell Hits The Fan in Argentina Uruguay Ducks Out !!

Just shows you the world could be ending but if one doesn't have a TV continually tuned into the news (the say its bad for you anyhow) you could miss it. For instance while fishing on the banks of Waterside Cottage these past few days the Argentina (who cares what the world thinks!) Government decided to seize the largest company in the country the petroleum conglomerate YPF due to they say lack of investment. Ok I know I know its not the end of the world but its huge news here. Who knows the real story behind the coup but one thing is for sure it certainly has taken the pressure of the news of the gradual sinking of the Argentina peso which makes its weary route slowly downwards in spite of the Governments attempts to prop it up. Course all who own USA$ dollars in Argentina are laughing all the way to the bank as the country gets a little bit cheaper for them when they change their money on the black market - win some lose some eh. Comments about the coup from Uruguay were quite rightly the sitting on the fence type " we don't intend to get involved in another countries affairs" was one comments from a top Uruguayan politician - quite right too cos insanity could be catching best to duck out and enjoy the fishing.
The fishing is slow this time but the weather is fabulous so who cares
